Carol!
Carol was a character played by Horatio Sanz on Saturday Night Live. Despite being overweight, crass, loud and obnoxious, she always managed to win over the single guy who came with Carol's best friend (played by Amy Poehler) and her husband (played by Jason Sudeikis). Sudeikis' character in the sketch apparently did not like the company of Carol, demonstrated in the Kevin Spacey episode, when Carol walks in, Spacey exclaimed "Who is this enchanting creature?" to which Sudeikis replied "Yeah, I don't know anything about that but this lady's name is Carol." In the sketches that featured her, drinks are usually requested, to which she usually wanted something outrageous that could only be found somewhere else other than where they were going (such as a Shamrock Shake in a bowling alley and a Dunkin' Donuts Choconilla Frappechino in another fine restaurant). Her catchphrase which she said at random times was "I'm Carol!" Her speech consisted mostly of sexual innuendo and double entendres. This can be best described in a sketch featuring Alec Baldwin. Baldwin asks her occupation, to which Carol replies highway worker. Baldwin guesses what highway Carol works on, to which she says I-69, referring to the 69 sex position. At the beginning of each episode, Carol displayed the shocker in front of her face. Carol's last appearance was May 20, 2006 with host Kevin Spacey. Sanz was fired that summer and did not return the following season, and the character was retired. The theme song for the Carol sketches is a parody of the theme song from the TV show Maude.
